Welcome to 2025: A Year to Thrive

I can’t believe we’re already in 2025. Last year flew by so quickly, and with everything that happened, I feel like I’ve come out on the other side with something truly valuable: self-trust.

2024 was the year I rebuilt the foundation of trust in myself. For a long time, I felt like I had lost it. My confidence was at an all-time low, and I genuinely believed that nothing would ever get better. I was constantly doubting myself, comparing myself to others, and feeling trapped by my circumstances.

But things started to change. Thanks to some simple but powerful exercises—many of which are in my guidebook—I learned that I’m capable of so much more than I ever gave myself credit for. I realized that I can take control of my life, my mindset, and my surroundings. And let me tell you, that shift in perspective was life-changing.

I recently heard someone say we should call this year “twenty-twenty-thrive,” and I loved that. It perfectly captures the energy I’m bringing into this year. I genuinely believe that 2025 is going to be amazing, and I want to share why.

A Shift in Perspective

Last year, my journey was focused on figuring out what I wanted from life. I spent a lot of time thinking about my goals and the kind of life I wanted to create. That was a great starting point—it helped me gain clarity about my dreams. But along the way, I kept running into roadblocks.

I realized that the reason things weren’t working out the way I envisioned wasn’t that I lacked the ability or determination. It was that I was too focused on the big picture and not on the small, daily actions I needed to take to embody the person I wanted to become.

For example, I wanted to be someone who’s in the best shape of her life. I tried adopting the mindset of my future self—thinking positively about my health and fitness—but I wasn’t taking the necessary actions to make it a reality. I kept waiting for motivation to hit or for “the right time” to start.

The truth is, motivation is fleeting. It comes and goes, but it’s never there long enough to sustain real progress. I realized that if I truly wanted to achieve my goals, I couldn’t wait for motivation to magically appear. I had to make conscious choices—every single day. I had to stop looking for excuses and start looking for opportunities to act toward my future self, even in small ways.

The Rule of Two

That’s when I made an agreement with myself:

Every single day, I’ll make at least two choices that align with my goals and the person I want to become.

It doesn’t matter how big or small those choices are. What matters is that they move me closer to my goal. Here’s what that looked like for me:

Moving My Body:

Even after a long, exhausting day at work, I decided I’d still move my body—whether it was going to the gym, doing yoga at home, going for a walk, or even just cleaning the house. It didn’t have to be intense or last for hours. Sometimes, 20 minutes was enough. The point was to commit to the habit of showing up for myself.

Practicing Self-Kindness:

When I caught myself spiraling into negative thoughts about my body, I made the choice to stop. My future self would be proud of her body and grateful for all it does. I reminded myself to do the same, refusing to waste energy on self-criticism.

Mindful Eating:

Whenever I craved something unhealthy, I paused and asked myself: Can I choose a healthier alternative? Can I satisfy this craving in moderation? Or can I distract myself until the craving passes?

Small Steps, Big Impact

You might be thinking, “How can 20 minutes of movement or one small act of self-kindness really make a difference?” But I’ve learned that consistency is what truly matters.

Could I push myself harder—work out for two hours every day, follow a strict diet, and force myself to be disciplined? Sure, but would it be sustainable? Probably not. What I want is a lifestyle I can maintain—a balance that challenges me without overwhelming me.

I’ve also found that I thrive when I challenge myself just enough—on a scale of 1 to 10, I aim for about a 4. It’s enough to make me feel accomplished but not so much that I feel defeated. That sweet spot allows me to enjoy the process while still making progress.

What About You?

What are your goals for 2025? Whatever they are, I encourage you to start small. Decide on one or two actions you can take every day to move closer to your dreams. It doesn’t matter how big or small they are—what matters is that you’re showing up for yourself consistently.

If you thrive on intense challenges, go for it! If you prefer a gentler approach, that’s okay too. You know what works best for you. Just remember: every choice you make matters.

By making two small decisions every day that align with your goals, you’ll start to see real, lasting changes in your life. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about being consistent.

Let’s Make 2025 Amazing

Looking back, 2024 was the year I laid the foundation for self-trust and growth. Now, 2025 is my year to thrive. I’m choosing to prioritize small, intentional actions that align with the life I want to create.

And I hope you’ll join me. Let’s make this the year we stop waiting for the “perfect moment” and start taking control of our lives—one small decision at a time.

Here’s to a year of growth, joy, and endless possibilities. Let’s thrive together!
